Womanliness

Case 1

Is a short video recorded with a security camera. The choice of white creates a hallucinatory quality. We might have entered a head space or a dream... The Electra syndrome is taking over a woman who’s turning into an emotional statue by the fear of being perceived as weak and fragile. She performs Neurotic, controlling and compulsive behaviors in a vain attempt to avoid her own feelings... The fear of physical and mental metamorphosis battling her maternal instinct. But what if she lets the pain form her. I want to create a polarity in these personas and imply a mother daughter relationship.

From a girl to a woman to a stereotype.

This work is part of the project Womanliness, which explores women and the ways they are perceived across time—by society, by one another, and by themselves. Through characters enclosed within symbolic spaces, Womanliness reflects inherited behaviors, belief systems, and embodied roles.

Built through symbols and metaphors—fabric, texture, light, and sound—Womanliness captures moments of fragmented intimacy, where identity shifts and the familiar becomes unrecognizable.
